The Order of the Arrow

We recently had an Order of the Arrow election. The two boys who got in are Matt and Hunter. Nathan and Patrick H. were already in the OA.

Cades Cove

We just went on a camp out to Cades Cove. We worked on the bicycling merit badge and the hiking merit badge. Both of the merit badges are eagle reguired. It was a very comfortable 69 degree campout. We had a campfire program and the M.C.' s where Jody and Hunter.

Our Troop meets every Tuesday night at Crosspoint in Argo. Crosspoint is the Baptist Church on the Northwest Corner of the Argo exit off I-59 N. Meeting time is 7-8:30 pm.

Canoeing 2008

Our June outing was camping and canoeing. We canoed on the Tallapoosa River.
Five members participated: Nathan , Joseph , Patrick , Freddy and
Hunter .

Camp Comer

Our Troop went to Camp Comer in Mentone, AL from June 29- July 5. We had a great time in Campsite One - Beaver.

We worked on merit badges did some service projects and participated in the campfire with a skit on Thursday night.

One of our members participated in an Indian dance. He made his costume himself.

We had three visitors join our troop for the week from other troops.

Each new Scout earned at least 5 merit badges. Some of the badges earned were Archery, Riflery, Citizenship in the Nation, Environmental Science, First Aid, and Cinematography.
Our older scouts earned other badges.

We won the Honor Troop award. We also won the Best Dressed Award. The best dressed award goes to the troop who wears their uniforms to the best degree. This award is offered to only one troop and it is handmade.
